Been working really hard with the writers on the next eight. Who shall live and who shall die? Very good stuff we're coming up with, very real and emotional and strangely different from anything that has come before it.

Well, as much as I love you, Luby, I can't promise you that. Death is life and life is death, but this I can tell you: we, the writers, have LOVED writing these next episodes. They are really challenging, and I think because this might be the end for me they are particularly bittersweet. The next eight is really about the core five: Sean, Christian, Julia, Matt, Liz and Kimber. The crew I started with. I so love them. I am really trying hard to write them CHALLENGING dramatic material. Truthfully, this shit is so emotional that I really don't know how they would act it, it makes me weep sometimes when I write it. Which, of course, makes me realize I am ALL the characters I created, and fuck...I will miss parts of me when they are gone.
Last night, I took all the writers out to a fancy dinner to celebrate us writing again after the strike. We had many drinks and shared many memories of the show and the events that got us here...sigh. It was lovely, and sad and like...the end.
That's really what it felt like.

Ausiello: I think we're looking at spring '09. Probably not the answer you wanted.
