The Aquarius Diving Club is located on the beach at Um Tondoba Bay, 500m across the road to Awlad Baraka Camp. Pick ups from other hotels possible with charge. 84 km from Marsa Alam airport.

The Dive Centre

Aquarius Diving Club is a well established Egyptian run diving operation that inaugurated its first centre in Hurghada in 1996. They manage today 8 dive centres spread all over the Red Sea Riviera. Aquarius in Marsa Alam opened in 2001 and it is a PADI Gold Palm Dive Centre located on the beach at Um Tondoba Bay. Because of its remoteness it is considered one of the most laid back centres in the southern Red Sea.

Scuba divers can choose diving from several different dive sites with levels varying from easy, shallow sites for beginners to difficult, wall diving subjected to strong currents reserved for high level divers. The dive sites are located either on the coastal reef or offshore. Coastal reefs are easily accessible by speed boat, while offshore (including the Samadai Reef, also named Dolphin House) are better dived from the normal daily boat. Some sites are only accessible in good weather conditions.

Speedboat diving starts from the small wooden jetty on the northern side of the bay. The whole trip usually lasts less than 1½ hours, after which divers can come back to a well earned rest on the beach. There are 3 ribs available; they are piloted by skilled local boat captains, who will help the divers during their entry and exit out of the water.

If you would prefer to dive from a normal daily boat, Aquarius Diving Club has 2 wooden boats, both moored in the bay; excursions normally go out in the morning for 2 dives; lunch is served onboard between dives. Many divers, once familiar with the bay house reef, enjoy the freedom of buddy diving without a guide as and when they please. The entrance to the house reef is a 50m long stretch of a sandy beach.

And if you are looking for a scuba diving holiday combined with a touch of Bedouin culture, you many choose to stay at the Awlad Baraka Camp inside the “Bedouin Valley”, which is affiliated to the dive centre, situated 500 metres across the main road.

Ragazzi questo è un posto davvero carino e molto semplice.
Io mi ci sono fatta portare in taxi dal Dream Lagoon per fare snorkeling ma si possono organizzare anche immersioni.
Per dieci Euro ho potuto usufruire di tutti i servizi ma soprattutto, a turno con mio marito, ho visto una barriera davvero molto bella e ricca di pesci partendo da riva.
Il gestore era davvero alla mano e cordiale; certo il posto è un po' spartano, alla Puerto Escondido, ma la vista è appagata dai colori magnifici del mare e della sabbia bianca e dalla vita sottomarina.
